To start of the year 2008 in the tennis World, was the Australian Open. Some of the most renound tennis players have played here at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Park, Melbourne Australia. Now the legends of tennis are in the stands of the arena while today's stars get a shot at the Grand Slam title. After almost a month of matches, Maria Sharapova defeated the semi-finalist Ana Ivonavic for her first Australian Open grand slam. In the men's division, the number two seed, Spaniard Rafael Nadal was defeated by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France in the quarter finals. Then to majorty's surprise, number one seed of Switzerland Roger Federer was defeated by Serbia's Novak Djokovic in the quarter finals. Leaving Djokovic and Tsonga for the men's singles. Being one of my favorite players of the tennis World, I kept my fingers crossed for Novak. He had pulled through in the semi-finals to dominate the court against Tsonga. This was also his first Australian Open grand slam title.

My favorite part about tennis other that Anna Kornikova is the sound they make when they hit the ball
Yeah tennis is pretty cool. I only watch the big matches with Rodger Federer and guys like that. Andrai Agassi was cool to watch beause he played with so much passion. He was my favorite.
My favorite part of tennis is the speed and the groan the players make whenever they hit the ball.
